We have snack from 9:40-10:00.  We ask that it be a nutritious snack and quick to eat.  Please--no candy.  Students may bring their own drink, get water from the fountain or purchase a drink for 25 cents.

SWEATERS
The classroom tends to be cool when the air conditioner blows, some students are cold.  A sweater would be helpful and can be kept in the locker all year (a light weight sweater or jacket in red, white, or blue with the NAME inside).

UNIFORMS
Boys must wear belts everyday.  Girls must wear belts if their shorts or pants have loops.  Girls must wear shorts under jumpers.  Boys and girls should always wear tennis shoes even on Church days.  Neat hair.  No nail polish.

CHECK-IN TIME
The classroom is open at 7:40 for children to come in and start the morning procedures.  If you have to bring your child before 7:40, please send them to the cafeteria where there is supervision.  Our class begins promptly at 8:00.  ***Children should stay home from school if they have fever or a stomach virus.  At the same time it is important that children not miss school.  The limit of days a student may miss is 10.2ndcandids_8

CONTRACTS
Reading and Math contracts are started on Monday morning and are due on Friday.  They should be finished by Friday.  Each child is required to complete 3 math lessons, 3 reading lessons, and one bonus each day.  The students have plenty of time to finish their work.  Contract work will be sent home the following Monday in a brown plastic folder.  Please sign and return the next day.

DISCIPLINE/CONSEQUENCES/REWARDS
The discipline plan follows the handbook policy.  We use a positive approach while redirecting behavior.  The children are aware of the rules and procedures of the classroom.  They are reminded often with warning and hand signals.  When an infraction has happened, the children are required to sign a behavior book (insures privacy).  We also have many rewards (angel cards, points for party, etc.) for compliant, Christian behavior.
