| Eighth graders' service project for January was Souper Bowl of Caring, a national project that combats world hunger. They were able to raise over $400 which made it possible to purchase 2,540 pounds of food for St. Vincent De Paul's food pantry. Mr. Bob Coffey, Director of St. Vincent De Paul, surprised the class with a certificate of recognition from the National Office of Souper Bowl of Caring. |

The class with the most pledges collected was 2nd grade with a total of $1,839! Third grade came in 2nd with a total of $1,505. MathCounts Team placed third in the competition sponsored by the local chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers. Eighth grader, Christian W., also placed second in the individual competition and will advance to the state competition in Austin on March 29.
