Our students will compete in all of the 72 events including students from Grades 1-8. Please mark your calendar to help us out in the concession stand or hospitality room, as a grader, a monitor or one of the many positions we will need to fill. If possible, I hope you can take off from work; if not, we understand. Know that if you do take a position at out PSIA Meet, you must be Safe Environment compliant. If you are not already trained, please don't delay. Thank you for helping us in any way. We hope to be sending many more of our students to compete at the State Level this year.

sell_sellThe Great American Magazine Fundraiser will happen in the Spring. However, if you would like to renew your subscriptions now, please use the following website and login information:

Visit the website store.gafundraising.com. Enter the School ID #1461599. Enter your student's name and start shopping. CREDIT CARDS ARE ACCEPTED ONLINE. We will still be able to track the magazine sales by student, so any magazine sales or renewals made online will be tallied for the Spring Sale.

We are gearing up for a fun Spring semester!  We thank ALL of our families who participated in the Catholic Life Insurance Raffle fundraiser. It was the first year for this event, so we will be evaluating it in the next few weeks to determine it’s success. We will definitely use the money raised for the students!

Next, we will have the Scholastic Book Fair during Catholic School Week. Please make plans to attend our book fair and support one of our school fundraisers. We will be looking for parent volunteers to help work the book fair in the Early Childhood Center and the big school library, so if you are interested – please let the main office know.

We are also looking forward to February for our Spring BBQ. As always, we are looking for parents to volunteer with the BBQing and the plate making. If you are interested in helping with either of these jobs, please contact Jennifer Garza at 652-3046.

Other volunteering opportunities will be PSIA Concession Stand March 31st and Picnic Day festivities (in May). We would also like to get the word out to all parents that we will be looking for some new PTC officers for the 2012-2013 school year. We know that we would not be able to conduct any of these events without such wonderful parents. Please consider an officer position for next school year. It is a wonderful way to give back to the school and the students!

Wish List 2011-12

For over 50 years OLV School has provided an excellent education for thousands of children. All of this has been made possible through the hard work of clergy, teachers, parents and many benefactors. Since 1957 there have been many generous people who have contributed in various ways.

In order to better communicate our material needs we have created a wish list. Our wish list consists of specific items that individuals may be able to provide in a cost effective manner due to their expertise or ability.  You may be able to help us out monetarily or in labor.  If you are interested, you may leave a memorial for a loved one, honor a student or just make a donation for another reason.  You could choose one of the wishes of OLV that would certainly enhance and improve our curriculum or our plant and have it given in someone's honor or memory.  This will be noted on a plaque or in another way.

For more information about specific items, CLICK HERE or go to "Wish List" on the main menu.

Earn Money for Our School

dollar-signThere is a new way to earn money for our school for all those who order online (and isn't that most of us!!).  Just go to www.schoolstore.com and it will ask for the school's name and location.  Once they locate our school, you can go to over 100 stores and order as usual.  The difference is that now the school gets a percentage of the sale.  No extra cost for you.   Tell all your family and friends!!

PSIA Help Needed

volsOLV is looking for some willing coaches for our PSIA teams in the following areas:

Ready Writing for grades 3-8

If you could help us out with any part of these groups, please call the office as soon as possible or if you have any questions, please call.  If you could work with the students during the school day, we would do our best to find a time or if you prefer after school hours, we would work with you there, also.  Of course, you would need to be Safe Environment trained.  Please consider as we need extra help in these areas.

OLV Annual Fund

schoolfundraiserOLV School's 2011-12 Annual Fund has kicked off! Last year's fund helped purchase interactive whiteboards, projectors and wireless tablets for every classroom 1st through 8th grade. Our goal this year is to raise at least $50,000 to help purchase up-to-date laptops for all teachers Pre-K3 through 8th and purchase school-owned instruments and equipment for the OLV band program. Your support is an investment in our children's future success. We ask that you prayerfully, consider making a gift to the Annual Fund. Each and every gift, in any amount, benefits the educational experience of all OLV students. With your participation, we can meet and exceed our goals.
